Lafayette

Lafayette

A must go whenever you´re in Paris is Lafayette and not just because they have everything a girl would want to buy. Their rooftop is amazing, it's free and great for pictures. Their annual Christmas tree is something special too, this year they even turned it upside down!

Printemps & Burberry

Printemps & Burberry

I can still remember the beautiful shopping windows at LaFayette and Printemps of the last time we were in Paris around the holidays. The stores are going to extreme ends and use more technology and lights every year and these shopping windows are definitely the highlight of all the decorations in Paris for Christmas. The collaboration of Printemps and Burberry is like the best thing I have seen so far with the rotating hanging umbrellas filled with presents and lights, the moving dolls wearing Burberry trenchcoats and various recognizable icons of London. The last few years I always preferred the Christmas windows of LaFayette over Printemps, but this year it was the other way around. I admire the incredible (digital) marketing of Burberry for a long time, especially after doing my Bachelor Thesis about Luxury Brand Marketing, and these decorations are (like everything they do) super pretty. Burberry is, without a single doubt, the best at telling a story and this collaboration is another example of their magic.

Postcards from Paris

Postcards from Paris

In honour of our upcoming trip to Paris, here some photos from the last time Ruth and I were in Paris. I cannot wait to experience the days before Christmas in Paris, see all the beautiful decorations in the city of lights, eat croissants and pastries all day long, warm ourselves by drinking hot chocolate, shop at LaFayette and Avenue des Champ Élysées and photograph a winter version of this post.

Gordes

Gordes - France 2014

On the day of our arrival in France we always love to go out for dinner after we unpacked our stuff and bought groceries. What could be more perfect then to start our vacation with an evening in the picturesque Gordes? Luckily for us the restaurant Casa Rosario has the best pizza in the area and isn´t too far from where we are staying. We discovered the restaurant two years ago and have been there a lot ever since. It is always fun to drive to the top of Gordes on the narrow roads made for small French cars and tourists walking on the side trying to capture the beauty of Gordes on their cameras, but totally worth the view and delicious pizza!
